Saturday November 24, 2007 - 2600 Block of West 4th Street

At 0020hrs the companies were dispatched to the 2600 block of West 4th Street for the reported building fire.  Caller reported the alarms sounding and an odor of smoke in the area.  Companies arrived with nothing showing and began to investigate.  Running water could be heard from behind a roll up door so crews forced entry and encountered a medium smoke condition from the door.  The building was being used a laundry service and the area involved contained large bins full of laundry.  Crews began to open up and found a fire in some of the bins controlled by the sprinkler system.  The sprinkler system was secured and the building was ventilated prior to being returned to the owner for clean up.  Companies remained on scene until 0245hrs.

Friday November 9, 2007 - 9th & Lamokin Streets

At 0815hrs Company 81, Tower 82, Chester-11, and CCMC Medics were dispatched to 9th and Lamokin Streets for an MVA with entrapment.  Chester-11 arrived on location confirming entrapment, multiple vehicles involved, and smoke showing from one vehicle.  Chester-11 then requested Engine 82 to respond to handle the car fire.

 Thursday November 8, 2007 - 312 Loyd Street

At 1642hrs the companies were dispatched for a building.  Squrt 81 arrived on location to find a two story twin with heavy fire showing 2nd floor. On arrival crews found that all occupants had been removed on their own. Members advanced 13/4 attack line to the 2nd floor to the fire room and made a quick knock down. Companies remained on location for several hours due to extensive overhaul. The cause of the fire was determined to be a child playing with a lighter and the occupants tried to put the fire out on their own.

Saturday November 3, 2007 - 10th & Upland Streets - 2 Alarms

At 1627hrs the companies were dispatched to 10th and Upland Streets for a building.   Chester-11 arrived on location to find a 3 story vacant twin with heavy smoke showing from side one and the first floor involved.  Initial operation was search and rescue then the companies went in-service with the Squrt and the second alarm was stuck.   Companies remained on location until 2355hrs mopping up.

 

Tuesday October 30, 2007 - Mary & Lamokin Streets.

At 2300hrs SQ-81 arrived on scene with a vehicle fully involved.  The company was in service for approximately 30 minutes.

Monday October 22, 2007 - 8th & Elsinore Place

At 2200hrs Engine 82 was dispatched for a car fire in the area of 8th Street and Elsinore Place.  Engine 82 arrived on location and reported a vehicle fully involved. The company remained in service for approximately 30 minutes.

Wednesday October 17, 2007 - 4th & Wilson Streets

At 2030hrs Squrt 81, Tower 82, Chester-11, and the Medics were dispatched to 4th and Wilson Streets for pedestrian struck and under a vehicle.  On arrival it was reported the vehicle was on the sidewalk with the pedestrian lying on the ground near the vehicle, negative entrapment.  The crew assisted the medics with patient packaging and the subject was transported to CCMC.

                                                     - 2613 Smithers Street

At 0926hrs the companies were dispatched to 2611 Smithers Street for a building.  While en-route fireboard advised that PD were on scene reporting the fire was in 2613 and they were attempting to force entry.  Chester-11 arrived and reported a vacant under renovation with smoke showing from the second floor windows . Squrt 81 dropped a 5" supply line and lead off with an 13/4 hand-line to the basement.  Fire was placed under control in about 20 minutes and companies cleared at 1030hrs.

Monday October 15, 2007 - 2300 Block of Chestnut Street

At 1454hrs. Company 82, Chester-11, and the medics were dispatched to the 2300 block of Chestnut Street for an MVA with entrapment.  Upon arrival 82 command reported a two vehicle MVA with one overturned, negative entrapment.  Company 82 put down oil dry and stood by for the tow.

Saturday October 13, 2007 - 2700 Block of Smithers Street

At approximately 0130hrs the companies were dispatched to the 2700 block of Smithers Street for a possible building fire. Chester-11 went on location with fire showing from a vacant 2 story middle of the row with access problems due to demolition of the area.  Squrt 81 stood by at the hydrant while crews from 81 and Tower 82 worked on making access to the fenced in area.  Squrt 81 dropped a 5" supply line and went in-service with the boom and a deluge gun. Companies remained on location until 0400hrs.

Friday October 12, 2007 - 2600 Block of Boyle Street - 2 Alarms

At 0000hrs the companies were dispatched to the 2600 block of Boyle Street for a building fire.  While en-route fireboard advised that PD were on location reporting a vacant fully involved.  Chester-11 arrived on location and confirmed a 2 story end of the row with heavy fire showing.  Squrt 81 drooped a 5" supply line and went in service with the boom while crews from Tower 82  opened up the exposure.  Crews remained in service until 3:30hrs.

Monday October 7, 2007 - 1202 West 9th Street

Squirt 81, Engine 82, Tower 82, Chester-11, and CCMC medics were dispatched to 1202 West Ninth Street for a building fire.  While en-route fireboard reported they were getting numerous calls of smoke showing from the windows.  Chester-11 arrived and confirmed a two story middle of the row with smoke showing.  Squrt 81 went in-service with a line to the basement while Tower 82's crew opened up and searched.  Crews were in service for approximately an hour.
