June 19, 2008 - 1902 West 2nd Street - 2 Alarm Dwelling

Just before 03:00 hrs the companies were dispatched to 2nd and Reaney Streets for a building fire.  Chester-11 arrived on location and reported heavy fire showing side 1 of a two story twin.  Crews went in service with a hand-line to the exposure while mater streams were set up on the original fire building.  The second alarm was struck.  Crews remained on location for several hours due to extensive overhaul to the exposure from extension.

June 11, 2008 - 220 East 21st Street - Building

At 13:27 hrs the companies were dispatched to 220 East 21st Street for a building fire.  Chester-11 arrived on location and reported fire showing 2nd floor.  Engine 82 arrived and pulled a 1 3/4 hand-line to the second floor of the fire building, Tower 82 opened up and searched.,  Squrt 81 pulled a second line into the exposure building to check for extension. Crews remained on location for approximately two hours due to extensive overhaul.

June 10, 2008 - 803 Barclay Street - Dwelling

Chester-11 arrived on location and had a 3 story twin with medium smoke showing from the rear of the building. Engine 82 laid in from 9th and Barclay and went in service with an 1 3/4 hand-line. 82 command reported he had a dryer involved and requested a dry powder to knock the fire down. Squrt 81 and Tower 81 both checked for extension.

 

 

June 10, 2008 - 24 East 24th Street - Building

The Companies were dispatched to 24 East 24th Street for a dwelling fire at 13:49 hrs.  Chester-11 arrived on scene with a 3 story twin smoke showing from side A.  Engine 82 led off with a 1 3/4 hand-line through the front door and were met with fire in the hallway and front bedroom.  Tower 82 opened up and Squirt 81 assisted both crews.  Fire was knocked down in first 10 minutes and crews remained in service just under 2 hours.  Fire is under investigation by Chester-17 and no injuries reported.

June 9, 2008 - Concord & Central Avenues - Vehicle

At approximately 22:00 hrs Squrt 81 was dispatched to Concord and Central Avenues for a automobile fire. On arrival the crew found a vehicle fully involved and went in service with a 1 3/4 hand-line.  Squrt 81 was in service for approximately one half hour before going available.

 

 

June 7, 2008 - Interstate 95 Northbound @ Highland Ave - MVA

Squrt 81 was dispatched at 10:30hrs to I-95 North at Highland Avenue for an accident, car reported to be on fire. Chester-11 arrived and reported a one car accident in the high speed lane. The car was not on fire and the patient refused treatment.

 

 

 

June 6, 2008 - 1039 Kerlin Street - Building

At 03:00 hrs the companies were dispatched to the area of 11th and Kerlin Streets for a building fire.  Chester-11 arrived on location and reported heavy fire showing 2nd floor window side 2 of the building. Engine 82 went in-service with an 1 3/4 hand-line while Tower 82 performed an search and ventilated and Squrt 81 secured a supply line and pulled a back up line.  Fire was contained to the original apartment and is under investigation.

June 5, 2008 - I-95 Northbound @ Kerlin - MVA

At 11:30 hrs Squrt 81, Tower 82, Chester-11, and CCMC Medics were dispatched to I-95 North at Kerlin Street for an MVA involving a tractor trailer.  Chester-11 arrived on location and reported a tractor trailer on the median leaking fuel and one vehicle on the shoulder.  Squrt 81 contained the leak and stood by until the truck was removed. No injuries were reported.

May 25, 2008 - 9th & Upland Streets - MVA

Company 82, Chester-11, and Crozer Medics were dispatched to East 9th and Upland Streets for a Motor Vehicle Accident.  Crews found a one vehicle accident (car vs. Pole and Hydrant) with no injuries.  Crews controlled the fluids and secured the battery prior to returning.

May 18, 2008 - 2701 Madison Street - Building Fire - 2 Alarms

At 1526 hrs Company 82 was dispatched to 2701 Madison Street for a fire alarm.  Immediately after the dispatch fire board advised they were receiving several calls with reported entrapment and upgraded the assignment to the building response. Engine 82 arrived and reported heavy smoke showing from the ground floor side 4 of the building.  Chester-11 then arrived and reported a trapped female on the third floor balcony on side 3 and Tower 82 was put in service to make the rescue.  Squrt 81 secured the supply line while 82-1 went in service with an 1 3/4 hand-line. The 2nd alarm was then struck due to reports of occupants trapped in other apartments.  Company 65 and 52 assisted with primary and secondary searches while 82-1 extinguished the fire.  One female was transported to CCMC for trouble breathing and one firefighter for observation.  Companies remained on location for just over 2 hours for overhaul and to help residents collect a few belongings.

May 13, 2008 - 24th & Crozer Streets - MVA

At approximately 0430 hrs Company 82, Medics 83, 45 and 100, and Chester-11 were dispatched to the area of West 24th Street and Crozer Street for a reported MVA with a subject down on the roadway.  While en-route crews were updated to a possible subject struck and then a confirmed subject struck with entrapment. The subject was reported to be under a wall.  Company 82 arrived and confirmed one subject under a wall.  Company 82 went into service with hydraulic rams and hand tools to first stabilize the remaining wall and then to lift the parts off the trapped subject.  Crews worked for about 15 minutes to safely remove the victim from under the debris.  The medics transported to CCMC.  Crews remained on scene for about an hour to provide lighting for the police while they investigated the incident.

May 9, 2008 - 14th & Kerlin - MVA

At 2330 hrs  Squrt 81, Tower 82, Chester-11, and CCMC EMS where dispatched to 14th and Kerlin Streets for an MVA with entrapment. Chester PD arrived first and rapidly removed the victim after realizing the suspect had stolen the auto. Chester-11 and Squrt 81 arrived and secured the hazards and Tower 82 was recalled.  The crew from the Squrt remained on the scene until the car was removed from the roadway.

                       - 10th Street & Concord Ave - Vehicle

At 03:30 hrs Squrt 81 was dispatched to 10th and Concord ave for a car fire. Squrt 81 arrived and found a car with fire in the rear with exposure to another. The fire was quickly knocked down and is under investigation.

May 8, 2008 - Booth & John Streets - Building Collapse

Squrt 81 and Chester-11 were dispatched to Booth and John Street for a building Collapse. Side C of the abandon structure had partially collapsed onto a neighbors shed.  No injuries reported and Chester-11 turned it over to L&I.

May 5, 2008 - I-95 NB @ Kerlin Street - MVA

Engine 83, Tower 82, Chester-11, and CCMC EMS were dispatched to I-95 Northbound at Kerlin Street for a MVA with entrapment.  Chester-11 arrived on location and reported no entrapment, Engine 83 was held for fluids on the highway.
