Wednesday August 13, 2008 - I-95 North @ Melrose Avenue - MVA w/Entrapment
At 10:42 hrs Company 82, Chester-11, and Crozer Medic 83 and 100 were dispatched to I-95 North at Melrose Ave for the accident with entrapment. Chester-11 arrived first to find a single car accident with entrapment. Crews from Company 82 stabilized the car and went to work with the rescue tools and removed the roof to free the subject. Once the roof was off the crew assisted the medics with patient packaging for transport to Crozer Trauma Center. Extrication was completed within 15 minutes and the company was available a few minutes later.

Tuesday August 12 2008 - 11th and Upland Streets - Building Fire
Shortly before noon Companies 82, Squrt 81, Chester-11, and CCMC Medic 81 were dispatched to the area of 10th and Upland and 11th and Upland Streets for a reported building fire. Chester-11 arrived to find a vacant dwelling in the 1000 block of Upland Street with medium smoke showing from the 2nd floor front. 82-1 layed a supply line and went in service with a 1" 3/4 hand-line. Tower 82 opened up, Squrt 81 picked up the hydrant and assisted with overhaul. Fire was knocked in the first 10 minutes and companies went available in just over an hour.

August 7, 2008 - 609 West Thirteenth Street - Building
At 12:43 hrs the companies were dispatched to 609 West Thirteenth Street for a building fire with numerous calls. Chester-11 arrived on location and reported a two story middle of the row with medium smoke showing. Engine 82 went in service with an 1 3/4 hand-line to the second floor bedroom. Squrt 81 and Tower 82 did primary and secondary searches as well as checked the exposures. Two firefighters were transported to CCMC for minor injuries. Companies went available at 13:46 hrs.

July 23rd 2008 - Interstate 95 South @ Chestnut Street - MVA w/entrapment
At approximately 10:35 hrs Company 82, Chester-11, Medic's 45-7, 83-7 and 100 were dispatched to I-95 Southbound at Chestnut Street for an accident with entrapment. Medic 100-9 arrived first to find a car overturned off the highway along side the railroad tracks with one trapped. Engine and Tower 82's crews worked with the assistance of Rescue 62 (www.station62.com) for about 15 minutes to remove the victim. The victim was transported to Crozer Hospital with one firefighter that received a minor hand injury. Engine 82 remained on scene for about an hour.

July 10, 2008 - 707 East 24th Street - 2 Alarms
At approximately 16:30 hrs the companies were dispatched to 707 East 24th Street for a building fire. Chester-17 arrived on location and reported fire showing from the first floor. Engine 82 arrived and went in service with a 1 3/4 hand-line. Tower 82 ventilated while Squrt 81 did a search of the second floor. Engine 82 knocked down the bulk of the fire but were then forced to back out due to the large amounts of clutter inside the dwelling. Master streams were placed in service and the second alarm was struck. Crews remained on location until well after 22:00 hrs due to the extensive amounts of overhaul.

July 6, 2008 - 2232 West 3rd Street - Fatal House Fire
At 22:54 hrs the building fire assignment was dispatched for 2232 West Third Street. Chester-11 arrived on location and reported heavy fire from the first floor of a two story single family dwelling. He was told by fire board that they had several 911 phone calls stating that there were subjects trapped inside. Chester-11 had Squrt 81 lead off with an 1 3/4'' hand line and Engine 82 bring in a back up line, with all other manpower assigned to do a primary and secondary search of the dwelling. Two adult victims were found on the first floor and pronounced dead on arrival. A third victim was found on the 2nd floor and was transported to CCMC where they were pronounced dead. Chester Police, Chester Fire, and Philadelphia Arson are investigating the fire.

July 4, 2008 - 1024 West 2nd Street - Working Dwelling Fire
Company 82 and Squrt 81 just went off-radio from the 10th and Upland fire when they were dispatched to 1024 West 2nd Street along with Task Force 83 maned with the city callback for a building fire. Squrt 81 arrived and had fire showing from the 2nd floor of a 2 story end of row. Two hand lines were placed in service while the crews from Tower 82 and Task Force 83 ventilated and a did primary and secondary searches. The crews were in service approximately two hours.

July 4, 2008 - I-95 South @ the off ramp from the Commodore Barry Bridge - MVA
Engine 83 maned with the city callback was dispatched to I-95 South Bound for an accident with entrapment. Task Force 83 arrived and found a 4 car accident in the high speed lane with one injury. Chester Command held Engine 83, Medics 102-b, 100, and Ambulance 68-7, and recalled Rescue 52-6.
July 4, 2008 - Station 81 - Cover Assignment
While the on duty personnel were operating at the fire on 10th and Upland Streets, off duty members of the CFD responded to Station 81 and placed Task Force 83 in service to cover the city.

July 4, 2008 - 10th and Upland Streets - Working Building Fire
Company 82, Squrt 81 Medic 83-7, and Chester-11 were dispatched to the area of 10th and Upland Streets for a building fire. Chester-11 arrived and had heavy smoke showing from a 2 1/2 story vacant dwelling. Company 82 placed multiple master streams in service and Chester-11 asked fire-board to dispatch the city callback only to report to duty and cover the city while the units were operating on 10th Street.

July 3, 2008 - 6th & Madison Streets - MVA w/ Entrapment
At 14:45 hrs Company 82, Medic 83, and Chester-11 were dispatched to 6th and Madison Streets for a motor vehicle accident. While en-route the units were advised by Chester Police that there was a subject trapped. The company arrived to find one vehicle in the intersection with damage to the passenger side. The other vehicle had fled the scene. Tower 82 removed the passenger door to allow the medics access to the patient and one subject was transported to CCMC and the companies went available.

July 1, 2008 - 223 22nd Street - 2 Alarm Dwelling
At 19:15 hours The Chester Fire Department was dispatched to 223 E. 22nd St for the working house fire. Medic 100 arrived first and had heavy smoke showing from the rear of a 2 story twin. Chester 11 arrived next instructed the units to go defensive in the main fire building and struck the 2nd alarm. Chester 11 evacuated the exposure dwelling and placed Tower's 82 and 14 into service along with hand-lines and a deck gun from Engine 821.
