May 31, 2010  1021 West Seventh Street - Building Fire

At 23:51 hrs the companies were dispatched to 1021 West 7th Street for a building fire.  Chester-11 arrived on location and reported heavy smoke showing from a 2 story vacant under renovation.  Tower 82 went in service to make entry and ventilate while Engine 83 established a water supply and went in service with an 1.75" attack line.  After crews made entry conditions quickly deteriorated and the evacuation tones were sounded to exit the building.  Chester-11 struck the second alarm and went into a master stream operation.  Companies were made available at 03:00 hrs.  The fire remains under investigation.

May 21, 2010  1125 Terrill Street - Building Fire 2 Alarms - Fatal

At 20:08 hrs the companies were dispatched to 1125 Terrill Street for a building fire with entrapment.  Chester-11 arrived on location and reported a 2 story twin, 1st floor fully involved and the exterior of the front and rear of the second floor involved.  Chester-11 also reported a extremely heavy smoke condition with an occupant reported trapped on the second floor, second alarm was struck.  Engine 82 secured a water supply and pulled an 1.75" attack line and Engine 83 pulled a backup line while Tower 82 threw up ground ladders.  Engine 82 knocked down the fire on the first floor then encountered fire on the stairs as well as the hallway and all three bedrooms.  Victim was found in the second floor bedroom.  Companies remained on location until 02:10 hrs and the fire is under investigation by city and state officials.
